Deyana started dancing at the age of 3 and by the age of 8 wanted to try out cheerleading, she went on to do recreational cheer for 2 years before moving to Starlets to join competitive cheerleading.
Deyana started in 2010 in our level 1 Silver squad and has progressed over the years to level 6 in which she competed at cheerleading worlds in 2015 as a part of the open level 5 team.
Deyana has gone on to become a coach at starlets in areas of tumbling and dance which includes Hip Hop and Pom, she is also accredited up to level 2 for tumbling and cheer.
- 2016 is my 9th season with Starlets
- First season coaching
- Favourite food is avocado
- Least favourite skill is backward rolls
- Started cheering in Pennant Hills with one strip of mat on a wooden floor #
- Won state and national titles with level 1, 2 and 4
I've competed at Cheer Worlds twice and hope to go again whilst still competing. Its truly an experience to remember for a life time.
As a coach nothing beats the feeling of seeing any athlete, regardless of age, accomplish something, whether it be big or small. To pass down my knowledge, my experience and everything I've learnt over the years to help my kids (everyone I coach I call my kids) be the best cheerleader they can be. Thats why I do it. To see that smile of accomplishment is all I need as a coach.
